Nouakchott : 28/4/2011: (Agencies) The seventh annual meeting of the Arab National Institutions for Human Rights held
recently in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott has unanimously approved the proposal by Qatar National Human
Rights Committee (NHRC) on establishing an Arab national human rights institutions network.
According to the proposal, the network is to operate on the basis of international standards to encouraging for the
establishment of national institutions on human rights in countries that have not taken this step yet. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay opened the meeting.
Qatar Human Rights Committee will host the eighth annual meeting of the Arab National Institutions for Human Rights in
2012.
