HE President of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah held a consultative meeting with the Global Alliance working team attended by HE GANHR Secretary General Amina Abu Ayyash and representative of the GANHR Executive Bureau Catherina Rosa. .
The meeting was aimed to provide an initial dialogue platform on the strategic plan of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions to be approved in March 2023, and which will define the alliance’s agenda and work program for the next three years.
Al-Attiyah said that this meeting will provide an opportunity to share ideas, visions and expectations, discuss achievements, opportunities for progress as well as work obstacles facing the Global Alliance, and agree on work priorities and mechanisms during the coming period that will enable the Alliance to achieve its main goals, making it an effective voice for national institutions in the international human rights system.
She added that the next strategic plan should be an accumulation of the achievements that have been accomplished, and it seeks to achieve five main goals, the first of which is the contribution of the global coalition to establishing, strengthening and accrediting national institutions and developing their capabilities on an ongoing basis, as well as protecting them when they are threatened.
