Cairo, April 06 (QNA) –The Chairman of Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee Dr. Ali bin Smaikh al-Merri Tuesday affirmed Qatar’s keenness to enhance and disseminate the culture of human rights as well as taking necessary MEASURES to deepen cooperation between Qatar and other countries, and organizations in this field at the regional and international levels.
This came in statements on the sidelines of the meeting of the of the Permanent Human Rights Sub-Committee chaired by Dr. Al-Marri with participation of a number of experts from Arab organizations and official sides concerned with Human rights.
He said Qatar’s accession to the Arab Charter on Human Rights reflects its keenness on enhancing them, adding in this regard that a number of regional initiatives were presented by Qatar, the most important of which was the Qatari initiative to build capacities for combating human trafficking.
Qatar marks the Arab Day for Human Rights which FALLS on March 16 every year, he added. (QNA)
