The National Human Rights Committee of the State of Qatar welcomes the decision of the ILO Governing Council to drop the complaint filed against the State of Qatar.
The National Human Rights Committee stresses that the positive steps taken by the State of Qatar and the measures taken to protect and promote the rights of workers have greatly contributed to set things right.
In this context, the National Committee appreciates all the efforts made by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs and its fruitful and constructive cooperation with the ILO.
The Committee also urges the continuation of technical cooperation with the International Labor Organization and to foster and enhance this cooperation in the future to implement all international principles and standards related to the right to work and the rights of workers “in particular”, thus contributing to the full and complete protection and promotion of these rights in the State of Qatar.
