November 13, 13: AL-MARRI: QATAR IS ONE OF THE PROMINENT STATES IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Doha, November 12 (QNA) –the Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr. Ali bin SamikhAl-Marri said the state of Qatar is one of the effective states in the field of human rights not only at the Arab and regional levels but at the international one as well .
Dr. Al Marri said in his speech on the occasion ofQatar’s Human Rights Day that is read out on his behalf by Dr Mohamed Saif Al Kuwari, the NHRC member , that boosting and protecting of human rights is not mere a phrase repeated in all forums and meetings but became an integral part of the vision of the wise leadership and one of the basic pillars of the state of institutions and law, upon its path Qatar follows in a steady and confident pace with an unlimited support of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani,”, the Emir of the state of
He added ” We have the right to beproud of Qatar’s unprecedented renaissance in theregion ; Qatar has become a mode;to follow since it made wide strides in boosting and protecting human rights ,bearing in mind the principles of Islamic religion ,values and ethics of Arab and Islamic society .
NHRC has always played an important role in spreading the culture of human rights among all citizens, noting that the concern of Qatari people with principles of human rights is the way to make the success of formal efforts in the promotion of these human rights in a true, transparent and confidential manner , Al-Marri added.
theChairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) said that the State of Qatar made tireless efforts in the areas of health, education, housing , social security, children, women and persons with Disabilities , the elderly , employment, security and justice and other areas of human rights.
The Qatari citizen, Al-Marri pointed out , is happier and luckier than citizens of other countries as well as the status of expats is better than their counterparts in other countries.
Qatar made positive developments on existing legislations and enacted new legislations to protect and promote children and women rights, expressing confidence and hope in Qatar’s continuation in enhancing and protecting human rights in various domains, said Al-Marri.
He further said that the State of Qatar has showcased due keenness to develop existing legislation and enacting new legislation preserve, protect and promote the rights of children and women, as Qatar is one of the advanced countries in the field of the rights of individuals with disabilities, providing them with all the necessary ways and means for their integration and involvement into society as an integral part of it.
NHRC always celebrates the National human rights Day on November 11 annually as a national event, but this time the celebration, represented in Qatar’s Human Rights Day under the wise leadership of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the state of Qatar, who follows the good path initiated by the Father Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in protecting human dignity in Qatar and at the regional and international levels, he stressed.
