Dr. Nabil El Araby, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States confirmed his  attendence to the international conference to be organized by the NHRC in Doha on (the role of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in the promotion and protection of human rights in the Arab region), in collaboration with UNHCR. This came during a meeting that took place between Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Chairman of the NHRC and Dr. Nabil El Araby, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the University of Cairo; Where Dr. Al Marri extended an official invitation to Dr. El Araby. Both sides discussed during the meeting  human rights situation in the Arab region and its development issues. The conference is scheduled to be held during the period from 13 to 14 January 2016 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Zeid bin Ra'ad, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The conference is one of the largest international conferences on the role of the United Nations High Commissioner for humanitarian and human rights issues that shall bring together more than 300 international and regional organizations as well as all agencies of the United Nations.
