The NHRC concluded the symposium organized in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of the Sultanate of Oman on (the ideal framework for how to deal with human rights issues through regional and international mechanisms) under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Legal Affairs, In the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Committee and the Secretary General and Mr. Saif bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Qatar, Sultanate of Oman from 23 to 25 November, at the headquarters of The Traffic Safety Institute in the Sultanate of Oman; with a wide participation of more than 70 Institute representative for 23 ministries, military institutions and Omani civil society organizations, including the State Council, the advisory Council, the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Internal Security Service, Public Prosecution, Ministry of Social Development, and the Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Information as well as the General Confederation of the Sultanate of Oman's Laborers. Ms. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Secretary-General, in her closing remarks, expressed the sincere appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri (Chairman of the NHRC) and to His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Riyami (Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee of the Sultanate of Oman) for their keenness to strengthen the cooperation between the committees of human rights in the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar; which is reflected in the convening courses and other cooperation activities. Al-Attiyah said It is a pleasure to participate in the closing ceremony of the training course on "the ideal framework for how to deal with human rights issues through the use of international and regional mechanisms", which was organized in cooperation with the National Human Rights Committee of the Sultanate of Oman, in the framework of the joint keenness on strengthening capacities in the field of human rights. She noted that boosting cooperation with national human rights institutions in the Arab countries in general, and the Gulf relations especially, through capacity building and transfer of expertise deepen the historical relations, and build genuine partnerships consistent with interests of our peoples and common aspirations. Al-Attiyah extended thanks and gratitude to The National Human Rights Committee of the Sultanate of Oman for the warm reception, praising the great effort in hosting this training course, and participants on attending the training program.
