Al Huwail: The NHRC's participation comes in the framework of its awareness and educational role The NHRC participates in The edition of 25th Doha International Book Fair. The NHRC provides its publications, including books, magazines, brochures and research studies as well as gifts to be distributed during the exhibition period, which extends until January 17. Mr. Jaber Al Huwail, Director of the Legal Affairs department at the NHRC states that the NHRC's participation comes in the framework of its awareness and educational role and its mission in the spreading the human rights culture; we consider Doha International Book Fair a great opportunity through which ideas and experiences could be exchanged with all the other participating states. Al Huwail added that in addition to the regional and international communication exiting through the fair, there is also a local communication with other local state institutions participating in the fair, which is considered to be a real indicator of the strength of civilization and originality in the state which in turn reflects the depth of history and the present capacity that reveal the cultural future prospects; despite the availability of most of the material presented in the fair on the internet, the book fair emphasizes the important value of the need to read from the books themselves, which represent a great cultural value. Mr. Al Huwail pointed out that the NHRC's booth is different this year, as the NHRC appoints a legal researcher to provide legal advices and introduce the mechanisms of submitting petitions and complaints; of the most important books the NHRC presents this year, guidelines for education and healthcare centers by Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Kuwari, member of the NHRC in addition to a range of other publications, including Human rights in Islam, NHRCs' annual reports civil society organizations survey in the State of Qatar…etc. It is noteworthy that booth of the NHRC was visited by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and Dr. Dr. Saif Ali Al Hajari.
